I am an older black woman who is considered obese… I hate this phrase, but “morbidly obese” is what they call it. Even though I am working on my weight loss, it does not happen overnight. So, in the meantime, I believe that has definitely impacted my interviews, despite the fact that all of them have been video interviews. So, making the decision to return to work after working from home as a part-time entrepreneur and full-time homemaker-homeschooler for about 18 years has been an interesting journey. I have heard similar stories from older black women and from fat people. Despite it all, I decided not to give up, and to continue learning and enhancing my career.

In the spring of 2022, after I graduated with my Masters in Executive Leadership, I put in the work and invested money to boost my career transition and my job search. I invested in a professionally designed resume with a revised Linkedin profile. I submitted lots of job applications and attended interviews.
